If you truly want to explore Bali, there is no way you can skip the Campuhan Ridge Walk of Ubud. This beautiful walkway is surrounded by Palm trees and rice fields which create an exceptional view from the ridge. Since it is one of the most popular things to do in Ubud, you may have to face large crowds in the daytime so we recommend you to take this hike right after sunrise to have the most serene experience. I do recommend staying here to watch the sunset for a beautiful and emotional view.

Here is a short but comprehensive guide for your trip to Campuhan Ridge Walk.

Campuhan ridge walk is located in the cultural centre of Bali.  Even though it is located in the centre of the town still it may be a little tricky to find it.

Address: Campuhan Ridge Walk, Kelusa, Payangan, Jl. Raya Campuhan, Sayan, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia

Getting to the Campuhan ridge walk

If your hotel is located in the centre of the Ubud, you are only a few minutes away from the ridge walk. If you are staying outside the town you can always go for scooter or motorbike. It is the cheapest option to get around the place and costs about $3. You can also hire a taxi service for half of full day according to your plan. I personally use a Grab scooter to get there and back.

Campuhan Ridge walk: Things to do

The initial sign on the Ridge walk shows that it is a roughly 2 km stroll. Official walking tour ends at the Karsa cafe but you can see numerous shops and cafes before eventually reaching the last bit of rice fields. Even though the path is right in the middle of the hustle of the town, you will still feel like it’s a different world. To have the best experience at the ridge walk, make sure to visit during early morning or late afternoon.

Things to know before you go

The Campunhan ridge walk is surely one of the most popular attractions of Ubud.  If it is on your list when you visit Bali, here are a few things to know about it.

Opening hours: Since there are no gates or wall, the ridge walk is open 24/7. You can visit it anytime but we recommend not going there in the dark as there are no lights and the path is quite uneven.

Entry fee: Surprisingly there is no entry fee and the stroll in this wonderful natural spot is free.

What to bring: Since you will have to hike up and down the hill, you should probably bring water and snacks. You can find these essentials at the shops on the walk as well but they are a little expensive. Also bring sunscreen or make sure you’re all lotioned up beforehand. The sun here is harsh!
