Getting to Koh Samui is easy as you can reach it by the Koh Samui Airport or numerous ferries, buses and trains from all prominent locations around it. Here are some of the top tier things to do in Koh Samui.

The Famous Buddha of Koh Samui

The Big Buddha temple is undoubtedly the most popular attraction in Koh Samui. The 12m tall statue is made of gold sitting in the Mara position just the way Buddha sat when he was rejecting all worldly temptations. There are a few stalls around the statue offering food and amulets.

Namuang Waterfall

These two beautiful waterfalls are located in a jungle setup. They are set 30 minutes apart from each other. The first waterfall ends up in a pool that is open for swimming. These are a great option if you are looking for a break from the beaches.

Take a Jungle Safari Tour

Another way to fully enjoy Koh Samui is through a Jeep safari tour. You can enjoy some of the most beautiful sites along with the mummified monks, Namuang waterfall and Buddha’s magic Garden. Several companies offer such tour so you can easily select the one you find the best.

Secret Buddha Garden

Nim Thongsuk laid the foundation of the Secret Buddha Garden by putting away beautiful statues on his family owned land in the centre of the island. The garden also has a stream and waterfall which adds to the beauty of the surroundings.

Angthong Marine Park

The Angthong Marine Park is a full day excursion trip from Koh Samui. You can also enjoy kayaking along the coastline of the island and enjoy the splendour of the emerald lagoon. You can also enjoy snorkelling at Wua Talap.

Wat Plai Laem

If you have visited Thailand, you must have seen numerous ancient temples but Koh Samui has a lot more to offer. Wat Plai Laem is a relatively new temple made on centuries old techniques. The most striking feature of the temple is the 18 arm statue of Guanyin.  The temple is surrounded by lakes which add to the beauty of the vicinity.
